THE STORY OF WICKSTROM ACE HARDWARE
In the fall of 2024, Aaron and Lauren Wickstrom opened the doors to Wickstrom Ace Hardware with a simple goal: to bring the old-school hardware store back to Carson City and the Carson Valley. They wanted to create a place where customers could still count on friendly service, real problem-solving, and the kind of one-on-one help that makes a difference on every project.

For Aaron, the road to hardware started on a dairy farm. Years of farm life taught him that when something breaks at 4:00 in the morning, you do not wait around for the perfect replacement—you figure out how to fix it. That mindset shaped the way he works and the way Wickstrom Ace serves its customers today. Whether you are tackling a simple repair or a more complicated home project, Aaron brings that same persistence, creativity, and determination to helping you find the right solution.

While Aaron is often busy helping customers track down the right part, bolt, tool, or material, Lauren is the heart behind the in-store experience. With a strong eye for detail and a passion for making people feel welcome, she has helped create a store that feels warm, approachable, and community-focused.

WHY WE CALL THE CARSON VALLEY HOME
Although we are not originally from the area, our family was drawn to the Carson Valley for the same reasons so many others are. The beauty of the mountains, the friendly neighbors, and the strong sense of community made this feel like the right place to build both a business and a life.

When they are not at the store, Aaron, Lauren, and their three children are often out enjoying everything the area has to offer, from skiing local slopes to hiking Sierra trails.
